Frequently Asked Questions:
Question: Who should have plastic surgery and when should it be done?
Answer: Any planned surgery is really dependent upon the physical findings and reasonable expectations of the patient; it is not related to age. Health factors are key mitigating factors, not age.
Question: Is there an initial fee for consultation?
Answer: Yes, the time, effort and expertise of a consultant typically necessitates such a fee for evaluation, options, and specific information regarding a patient's needs.
Question: What kind of surgery does a plastic surgeon do?
Answer: The broad base of depth of surgical training requiring, typically, 14 to 15 years, specifically prepares a Plastic Surgeon for the broad spectrum of surgical care including cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. Our practice is not limited to one area of the body. Plastic surgery is our specialty, not a "side show."
Question: Is there a difference between "cosmetic" and
"reconstructive" surgery?
Answer: Yes. We have always done our best to properly educate various insurance carriers regarding this critical issue. Our relationship with all carriers has been forthright and, therefore, issues of fact usually allow for approval of proper medical care today.
